BUILD-UP

SOUTHEND visit Scunthorpe United this weekend for League 2 action against a Scunthorpe side who have experienced a turn around in form over the last month or so and now reside in 17th position and 11 points away from the relegation spots.

Southend on the other hand are with a goal in more than 400 minutes of football with Mark Molesley’s side last putting the ball in the net back on the 24th of Feb when the Essex-based side beat Forest Green Rovers 1-3.

With a handful of games remaining and the Shrimpers languishing in the relegation spots and with Grimsby currently residing in the only other relegation spot, now is not the time for cautious football but rather the time for shoot on sight football.
