Hopeful Shrimpers Travel To Barrow This Weekend

WILL Saturday the 1st of May 2021 become a day that will forever live in the bad memories of all Southend United supporters? It looks very likely to be, unfortunately.

Southend make the 321-mile journey to Barrow this Saturday in their penultimate match of what can only be described as the worst season in the club’s history.

Second, from bottom Southend are 6 points behind Scunthorpe United with just two games remaining with Scunthorpe having the better goal difference with eight.

The Essex-based club also finds themselves just one point ahead of already relegated Grimsby Town, the likelihood of finishing bottom of the football league is not off the cards yet.

Will Essex lose a football league side on Saturday? We hope not but it looks likely.
