Poor Officiating Benefits Stockport County In 0-1 Win At Roots Hall

A frustrated Phil Brown saw his Southend United side finish fruitless this evening at Roots Hall following a firey contest against promotion favourites Stockport County.

A John Rooney strike in the first half was enough to seal the full three points in a hotly contested match in front of an uncapped crowd at Roots Hall of just under 6k for the first time since Covid restrictions were introduced last year.

The Shrimpers will feel as if the referee should have been wearing a Stockport County kit rather than the usual attire following several calls that should have gone the way of the Essex-based club but instead went to the visitors.

Up next for Phil Browns side it’s Wealdstone away on Monday afternoon
