Phil Brown made three changes to the side that lost on Saturday evening at home to Stockport County with Egbri, Dennis, and Hobson coming into the starting eleven.
The visitors had the better of the first half having hit the crossbar on two separate occasions but as has been the way in the early matches of the season so far it was the service to the front duo of Sam Dalby and Rhys Murphy that was lacking in any quality.
Wealdstone’s threat in the first half mainly came through set-pieces.
The second half started much like the first ended with scrappy football being played mostly in the middle of the park with the game being there for the taking for the Essex-based side.
Midway through the half Matt Rush came on for the yet-to-find his goalscoring boots Rhys Murphy.
Wishart and Fasanmade were introduced by Wealdstone with 67 on the clock as the hosts looked to keep the visitors at bay.
Hamzad Kargbo replaced Jack Bridge with 10 minutes remaining.
Wealdstone had the ball in the back of the net in the dying minutes and must have thought they had won the game only for a foul to have already been given on Southend goalkeeper Arnold.
Very little action occurred in the dying minutes of the game which finished 0-0 with Wealdstone likely the happier of the two sides with the result.
Up next it’s Wrexham at Roots Hall this coming Saturday afternoon.
