Southend Visit Fellow Strugglers Torquay United This Saturday Afternoon

ONCE again Southend United are back in action this Saturday afternoon as they make the journey over to Devon to face a Torquay United side lacking in confidence and struggling in the lower half of the National League table. Sounds familiar right?

The Shrimpers have started life in the National League terribly with just one win, two draws, and three defeats to their names with the most recent defeat being an embarrassing 2-3 defeat at home to Aldershot Town this past Tuesday night in a game which saw Phil Brown’s side produce very little passion or interest at all in front of an increasingly frustrated Roots Hall.

TEAM NEWS

Abu Ogogo has returned to full training and will be hoping for a return to action this weekend.

Goalkeeper Steve Arnold is available having returned to fitness on Tuesday night following a dislocated finger he picked up last Wednesday.

And finally

Matt Dennis returned to training today but Craig Fagan confirmed to the official website “We don’t want to push someone too early and then lose them so we need to make the right decision in terms of Matty Dennis.
