A 90th Minute Torquay Winner Sinks A Woeful Southend Side

IT just goes from bad to worse for Southend United supporters this season as yet again the Essex based side crashed to a passionless 1-0 defeat away to fellow strugglers Torquay United at Plainmoor this afternoon.

A woeful encounter looked to be heading for a 0-0 draw for all of 90 minutes until in typical Southend United fashion Connor Lemonheigh-Evans scored the goal to see the Shrimpers fall further down the National League table just one point above the relegation zone and without a win since the opening day victory over King’s Lynn Town.

Just 7 games into the campaign and already we look to be dead and buried with a chairman accepting of ANOTHER relegation only this time down to the National League South.

Something needs to change as this fiasco cannot be allowed to continue!

Starting XI: Arnold, Ralph, Ogogo, Murphy, Bridge, Coulson, Dunne, Dalby, Egbri, Atkinson, White Subs: Hobson, Seaden, Kargbo, Demetriou, Dennis
