It’s Brown And Out For Southend At The Hands Of Chesterfield F.C.

THE second coming of Phil Brown at Southend United F.C. came to an end this afternoon following a 0-4 drubbing at the hands of high flying Chesterfield F.C.

In a fixture that had pitch invasions, supporters confronting players, 14 minutes of added time, and more it was the Spirites that came away from Roots Hall with all three points.

A hat-trick from Danny Rowe and a Saidou Khan goal condemned the Shrimpers to a sixth defeat of the season and was the final nail in the coffin of Phil Brown’s second stint at Roots Hall.

The Essex-based side will now be on the search for yet another manager to look to steer the club up the National League and away from trouble even this early in the season.

Southend XI: Arnold, Ralph, Hobson, Bridge, Dunne (C), Ferguson, Atkinson, Sayers, Kargbo , Demetriou, Kimpioka.

Subs: Howard, Murphy, Dalby, Egbri, Walsh
