Match Report: Bromley (A)

THE Season of goodwill to all men saw Southend take a well-earnt point away from a Bromley side chasing number 1 spot on the mountain.

The Shrimpers came ever so close to taking a lead just after half-time when Sam Dalby rounded Bromley goalkeeper Mark Cousins only for experienced former Cyprus international Jason Demetriou to fire high over the inviting open net.

Cheek broke the deadlock for the home side with 64 minutes on the clock and just a matter of a few short minutes later it was Matt Dennis that fired the Shrimpers level to claim his second goal in as many weeks.

Next up it’s Barnet this Tuesday afternoon at Roots Hall.

Southend XI – Arnold, Ralph, Hobson, Demetriou, White, Clifford, Dunne, Atkinson, Brunt, Dalby, Dennis,

Southend Subs – Coulson, Murphy, Gard, Walsh, Andeng-Ndi
